ABOUT: Climate Change Capital’s property team manages £50 million of equity for investment in commercial property. The team managers, Tim Mockett and Esme Lowe, expect up to half of the fund to be invested in the south east of England with the emphasis on “retro-fitting” existing buildings. This reflects the fact that only two per cent of the commercial property stock in the UK is new every year. The team's strategy is based on their belief that a two-tier market will emerge with future-proofed energy efficient buildings likely to outperform obsolete buildings that run the risk of being downgraded in value.
